Writing weirdness


I had set up something in chapter 73 of The White Winds for the main character's track team: an indoor track and field arena for them to compete in despite the winter weather that was coming on. I put it in Worcester, MA, as being a rather centrally-located place, and said that it was at the University of Massachusetts at Worcester. My author's note mentioned that, though Worcester has a state college, maybe in the future (when this story is set), they would have traded up to the UMass system.

Today, I got the alumni e-newletter from the state college I attended, and lo, all the state colleges have been renamed as universities! So, there is now a Worcester State University!

That is SO weird to me. Has anyone else had this happen to them?
