Well, so much for ending with chapter 24!

Chapter 23, for some unfathomable reason, required a rescue and a cliffhanger. So that's what I did. Now in Chapter 24, I've got the cliffhanger resolved and it's back to the main storyline. And my parents are arriving tomorrow afternoon. The kitchen looks much better; I still have to wash the floor. The bathroom and hallway need a lot of work, but they shouldn't take long. The mud room is impossible. I need to go to WallyWorld and get the van serviced, and take it to the car wash, too, so my parents won't complain about it.

Well, a little more conversation with Amanda and then back to work.
