I DID IT!!! I WON!!! AGAIN!!!

Yes, I've won NaNoWriMo again! Around 10:30 p.m. on November 25 with five days left to go! Count when I won: 50,029. I've gotten my soul back in a way.

The story's far, far from over, and I have oodles left to do. I'm in email conference with Math Girl to try and create a timeline for this beastie. Not an easy thing, believe me!

I'm tempted to take a break, really, but a bit from Deanna Raybourn's pep talk really stuck with me and makes me want to finish this as quickly as I can.

I know, writing every day is challenging. But it is also incredibly easy. When you write every day, you are always in the story. There is never a period of reconnecting with your characters, of trying to remember what mood you were attempting to create the last time you worked. And by working every day, you engage your subconscious in a way that simply isn't possible when you keep a more whimsical schedule. There is no need to summon the muse because there is no time for the fickle little strumpet to go anywhere.

I particularly like that last line because my muse IS a fickle little strumpet!

This is the way I'd like it to be. Writing every day, not skipping days, not losing the threads of my story because I've waited a day, a week, a month, or more to get back to it. It's a challenge, but it's also a habit I need to get into if I want to make a career of this.

So, I'm a winner, but I've still got a long, long way to go on this fanfic... then back to my other WIPs, and my novel. I really want to make this work!
