Seems Kami is taking up where Callie left off. It's not the first time we've found a snake in the house, but it is the first time we caught it before she killed it. The snake is an adult Northern Brown snake, which lives in leaf litter (of which we currently have tons), and eats slugs, worms, and small salamanders. Non-venomous.

It was lethargic at first, but under the warmth of my son's hands, and with the threat of death and dismemberment gone, it got more lively and coiled around my son's fingers. He took it down to a nearby park to release it--away from Kami. He said it immedately went down a hole. Don't know whose hole it went down, but it probably knew what it was doing, even if it was slightly injured.

ETA: She did it again today, Monday the 16th. I caught this one before she could kill it and kept it in a piece of Tupperware until the kids came home and could take it away. I'll have to keep an eye on her over the next few days, either that, or she'll learn not to bring her "toys" inside!
