Old Man Winter is back!
Jan. 23rd, 2005 01:38 pmBrrrrr! The temperatures have nose dived from earlier this month and now we're getting winter back again. The threat of freezing rain didn't really materialize in our area, but was entirely too real to the north of us. Makes me glad that Duke Power sent their tree cutters through last week, though. Today is sunny, cold, and wickedly windy, which makes it feel colder, even inside. Even here in my computer corner. I've got my first cup of coffee handy to wrap my hands around. I have to remember to put my barn coat in the wash today!
Chapter 11 of Serendipity is coming slowly. I sure did surprise a few people with Grandma's comments in chapter 10. I think I won't be able to get to the good stuff until chapter 13 though. I just had a scene pop into my head about what could happen if Jeff doesn't tell Lou that he's coming. It would be a good startle on the part of both parties I think. I may run it past C or Liz and see what they say. I'd better write it up though before I lose it. Frankie pulled the "Mary Sue quiz" from TIC for me; Lou has a few, just a few mind you, qualities of a Mary Sue. But very few.
My throat's a bit sore, and Hubby says I look under the weather. Not surprised; this wintery blast would nail anyone's hide to the wall. He's making chili for lunch, and I for one am looking forward to it. Great comfort food on a cold day like today.
