Well, maybe not happy, but at least relieved. Three days of rain were lovely, especially since I saw the optometrist yesterday and drove around for a bit with dilated eyeballs. Not having tons of sunny glare to contend with was lovely. But now we have sunshine and the kids are outside, until One Piece comes on.

Talked briefly with the MIL this morning. She said that the FIL now has glaucoma in both eyes. She also gave us a timetable of their plans to move back north, and a vague schedule of HBro #1's (that's Husband's Brother) schedule for when he and his family come home from China over next year's Chinese New Year celebration. Hopefully, the boy in that family will have grown up enough to not whine so much....

The route inspection ended yesterday, and Hubby was so relieved. It was his turn to have someone riding shotgun with him and observing his route yesterday, and it was the perfect day, too. He was so happy about it being over that he wanted to party, so off we went to the mall to order my new glasses and eat at the food court. I ordered from Le Petite Bistro for the first time and had their quiche "Lorene" (sic) and some fruit salad, both of which were very nice.

Got some more Overtures 8 written and it doesn't feel right to me. Grandma Tracy seems OOC when compared to canon, but then I've saddled her with an "event" in her life that has colored her response to my OC, Lou. I'm going to reread it and see where I can tweak it, and I might ask someone besides Hobbeth to read it. She's great for the mechanics, and for suggesting word changes where they are necessary, but she's not a big fan of the show. She did tell me last night that from what she had seen of Grandma in the show, they had written the character as someone who had lived during the 1920s or 1930s and she felt that my characterization was more believeable, for which I was grateful. I'm also thinking of changing time span in the story to reflect my inability to extrapolate the tech. With the things I'm writing about, it seems that basing this on the 2026 timeline would work much better than the 2065 timeline. We'll see. I think there's only one place where I've actually mentioned the year and it was in the debriefing that followed Lady P's rescue in Masquerade.

Well, the kids are back inside, and I've got housework and writing to do. More later if the muse moves.
