Hair color
Aug. 22nd, 2007 11:55 pmYeah, I colored my hair again today. I'd been procrastinating and procrastinating but finally bit the bullet and did it while the kids were at school. (Just remembered: FlyLady called Wednesday anti-procrastination day! Maybe I subconsciously kept something from her website!)
The color is a mahogany red-brown, and it looks... okay. I think it's more of a two-toned effect, with more red tones from the ears up and a much darker color from the ears down. That's most likely because I usually have my hair cut before I color, getting rid of all the old color except near the tips and leaving the rest virgin, unaltered dark brown and silver (lots more silver every day... cries....). But since the Girl's comment about my last haircut making me look like my mother, no scissors have touched my mane, and it's grown quite long. The top layer now reaches the base of my skull in the back. And, of course, all the old color is still there, and that creates the two-toned effect - that I see, anyway. The kids aren't squawking about the color like they usually do. Perhaps in the light of the morning they'll make more of a fuss. Hubby had to actually look at me to see the difference - my hints about using a good chunk of planned time in the bathroom - with Lacey exploring the room for the first time - didn't get through.
Well, at least I no longer look like my grandmother...
