Well, that was one honkin' big SNAFU...

Got a call from the Hubby yesterday morning informing me that he wasn't on vacation this coming week.

Say what?

Not on vacation this coming week. His vacation was scheduled for the 13-25.

Problem is: the in-laws thought it was this coming week. Somehow, somewhere, we told them so. And all of the plans, including the non-refundable airline tickets, were geared for this week.

A quick call to them put them in a panic. I mean, they spent $$$ on these tickets. I've never heard my FIL so emotional.

What to do?

Well... not a whole lot. The kids and I are going to New Mexico as planned... and the Hubby will join up with us on Sunday. Means he'll only have a few days with his parents, but it's better than nothing. It cost some more $$$ to move his departure date, but it was manageable. Problem solved, to a certain extent.

Masquerade 16 is up and 17 is underway. Haven't touched White Winds this week; it will have to wait until we get back. I should bring along what I've done so far and write some more longhand while I'm gone. I hope to get some time on my FIL's computer, maybe show him a few things and check my email. It would be nice. But my MIL has a lot of stuff planned for us to do, including Carlsbad Caverns. I should bring along some addresses so I can mail out post cards. That would be neat.
