I just read your NaNo thingy! It makes me think of HP minus the cheese. I like how there is a darker edge to it too despite its rather hopeful beginning. I'm curious about Siobhan's abilities why one cannot touch her--though after reading her reaction to the church I can't help but wonder if she can see beyond the veil so to speak.
I really loved the descriptions and the history about young Duff heh He sounds like such a nice fellow I hope he remains throughout the tale. Am curious to about the Corner House and what life is like in there. I thought it was cool how you introduced mythological characters as part of the world (young Duff) how its almost an every day occurrence.
I found this excerpt to be rather intriguing to say the least. You really know how to take your readers into this world and I hope that you will be posting more of it soon!T
