This year my inspiration was my word war with Becka, the ML from Charleston. We're still at it, really, though she came to admit defeat after I made it to 50K before she did. There's something about competition that really gets my fingers flying. I also learned to turn off my inner spellchecker. That was a big one. Not caring about SPaG stuff right now, just getting the words out.
I've also done a lot of word wars this year. It really helped me get anywhere from 500 to 1100 words, depending on how long the war went for. Our chat has been great for this, and so have our write-ins. If you're able to get out to word wars, or if you can get in a chat (some of the LJ NaNo communities have affiliated chats, or your region might have one), go for it. 15 minutes can be a lifesaver for your novel.
My chapters? Humph. They've always told me when they're done. Don't know how to put it any other way, but there seems to be a logical place to finish them and go on to the next bit. I tend to write linear, from one part to the next. Which may be my downfall; I never get to the end in 50K.
