Yeah, I've been lousy at this. Been lousy at a lot of things lately.
Day 17 - Favorite mini series
Lord Peter Wimsey (Titled: Dorothy L Sayers Mysteries)
This was a TV adaptation using three out of the four Lord Peter/Harriet Vane novels. They did Strong Poison, Have His Carcase, and Gaudy Night. I really wish they had also done Busman's Honeymoon as no one has done that and done justice to it, and I think this group would have. Edward Petherbridge was THE ultimate Peter Wimsey, physically, emotionally; he had his Lordship down pat. Harriet Walter was fabulous as Harriet Vane, the mystery writer he was pursuing, even as she was on trial for murdering her lover. I can't say they were totally, utterly faithful to the stories - no TV show can be. But they were way, way above average in bringing the characters and settings to life.
