It's a purse meme I ganked from lukecanwaltz88.

  1. Take a picture of your bag.
  2. Now dump everthing out and neatly adjust them, and take a picture (no matter how embarassing).
  3. Talk about the items inside. Detail.

Okay, here's the bag. It's a Liz Claiborne Accessories shoulder bag, black leather, red cloth inside. It has three main pockets and several zippered pockets (you can see one on the front flap). To the right you see what is called the "dreaded keychain" which is attached to the bag with a blue carbiner. There's a cell phone pouch on the other side, but I don't use it.. yet. I just bought a new toy that might just fit in there.

  1. Front pocket - Mentos, both sugared and sugar-free. Sugared for when I'm shaky, and sugar-free when I'm pretending to be a good girl with my sugar intake (besides, they taste better than the regular ones!).
  2. Front pocket - Leather case holding my debit/credit card. It's easier to find this way as it shares a little open inner pouch with the next item.
  3. Front pocket - Post-it notepad. It's supposed to be bright neon orange, but the lighting I used wasn't the best. Such a help when I need to jot something down!.
  4. Front pocket - Cards, including license and insurance cards. All the store discount cards are here, too. They get lined up in those slots that are built into purses and wallets and are easy to find. Which is good, because I'm always asking the kids/Hubby to get this or that out and this makes it easy on them... and me!
  5. Middle pocket - Leather Daytimer wallet. I don't use this as a Daytimer anymore - too much of a hassle, really. But I do like it as a wallet and it's monogrammed, too, which is always a plus.
  6. Middle pocket - Royal Extreme 6 data assistant. At least, that's what I call it though it's not a PDA in the traditional sense. It comes in handy as an address book and sometimes for appointments or as a calculator.
  7. Middle pocket - Change purse. 'Nuff said.
  8. Middle pocket - Checkbook and calendar. The calendar is from our auto insurance agent. I like to keep at least one paper calendar in my purse for those days (like a couple of weeks ago) when my Royal ran out of juice.
  9. Rear pocket - Dual mirror compact. It has a regular and a magnifying mirror.
  10. Rear pocket - Folding brush and mirror. The mirror's too small to be of any real use.
  11. Rear pocket - Tapestry glasses case. The tapestry case is covered with cats, and I use it for my current prescription.
  12. Rear pocket - Spare glasses. The black case holds my last prescription, for emergencies.
  13. Rear pocket - Pens. The rear pocket has two long open pockets on the back "wall" of the bag... for cigarettes and glasses, I presume. I put my pens in there, clipping them to the outer edge so they don't fall out.
  14. Rear pocket - Tweezers and nail clippers. How can a mother live without them?
  15. Rear pocket - Papers and feminine protection. I can hardly wait until I don't have to carry these any more. Not the papers - there's usually a list or receipt or two (or more) in my purse. But the pads! They always find a way to fall out!
  16. Rear pocket - Glasses wipes. Another thing it's difficult to live without. I tuck these in with my tweezers and nail clippers.

It's as much a part of my purse as the strap, and it feels weird if I don't hear it jangle as I walk. The number of fobs on it is to make it easy to find should I place it somewhere other than my carbiner. It actually has a whole three keys on it... 1 car and 2 door keys. The rest? You'll see.

  1. Car key and keyless entry. Pretty self-explanatory.
  2. Handmade beaded keychain that says "Tikatu". I made a dozen or so of these for my RP folks and for some of my friends as little gifts. Not difficult to do, and fun to figure out which names to use. Mostly screen names - though in a couple of cases I used RP player characters' code names.
  3. Store-bought beaded keychain that says "Mom's Taxi". This is the second of these I've purchased - the first had only black letters while this one has colored beads. You can't really see them because of the lighting.
  4. Kennedy Space Center plate. Given to me by Math Girl and has the name "Jeff Tracy" with a fake ID number engraved on the other side. I think my house keys are beneath it.
  5. Store scan tags. I have these for a variety of local stores.
  6. The FAB fob! My favorite key chain! It talks! Says three phrases in the voice of Brains as played by his original voice artist, David Graham. No other piece of talking Thunderbirds memorabilila that I've gotten uses the original voice artist. It's also cool because it was a prize given to me in a writing contest.
  7. Thunderbird Two. This was brought back from England for me by one of my RP buddies. I recently had to rework the findings on it, replacing a stud swivel connector with a snake connector. I was glad to get TB2 back on my key ring though.

And that's it! My purse weighs a ton, really, but I don't know what I'd do without it... and everything in it!
