What a difference a few days makes...

I got in touch with my PCP's nurse and her comment was: let the surgeon treat you and leave the diagnosis to your regular doctor. Seems my PCP wrote specifically in her notes that the blood blister and subsequent infection was not due to diabetes. But, since I'm concerned about it, I'll be seeing her on Tuesday to discuss the problem and start some real testing for it. Seems a borderline fasting blood glucose doesn't cut it as a diagnostic tool. Until then, I'm going to eat a bit more conservatively as far as sugar is concerned. Hubby says it's a good idea. I don't know what to do about the shoes; I'll ask my PCP when I see her.
The federal tax refund came yesterday and I spent the afternoon with the kids roaming around Wally World and getting them some much needed new clothes. Paid a lot of bills, too, which pleased Hubby. Then we went to Sticky Fingers for the first time. The Girl had gotten coupons for free kids' meals and we wanted to use them. The place was very family-friendly and the food was good. We'll be going back.
So, life goes on, a bit more normally than before. And hopefully I can get a real diagnosis this time.
