Day One of the diabetic diet/blood sugar monitoring. My head's still swimming from the information that was crammed into it yesterday. I'm so glad Hubby came with me; now he understands better what I'm supposed to eat and when.

They gave me a glucometer and I checked my blood sugar before breakfast and before lunch. I'll probably do it before dinner as well. It's a neat little device, the glucometer. Comes with a little penlike thing that I use to stick my finger. Hubby was fascinated by the way that the test strip slurped up the drop of blood. I'll have to switch fingers every day but that might keep them from getting scarred. I'll see my GP on Friday to talk about the seminar and to get prescriptions for the lancets and the test strips, and hopefully for the anti-depressant since I can't see the neurologist until I pay him.

The writing front is going okay. Chapter 8  of Masquerade is up. Now I have to get to the real action in Chapter 9. Claudette is onto me, I think; I'm glad she didn't give it away.

Sometimes I hate being a website manager. I've been trying to deal with a couple of Canadian teens, Relena, and of course, Lucie the Louse, who's been hotlinking fics left and right. Why do all my troubles come from Canada?? Relena has been posting lots of junk about anime and blood types and rock groups on TBW, presenting her opinions as facts and generally making everyone groan with the weight of it all. She really loves to hear herself talk. I've warned her more than once, and delivered a final warning today, which she answered... and promptly posted my letter and her reply on the site. And here I was trying to spare her embarrassment.

I'm pleased to say that the kids all got straight As on their report cards. One more quarter and the boys get to go to Gattitown in a limousine with the principal. One more quarter and the Girl will get a bicycle. She's just so far ahead of everyone else with the accelerated reader points that it seems she won't be able to be caught. But she needs to keep accumulating points and not rest on her laurels. She's set for all honors courses next year as is Boy #1. I expect Boy #2 to take his brother's place in Challenge class.

Enough for now. Gotta get supper prepared so all I have to do is pop it in the oven when Hubby comes home.
