That was... unpleasant.

Boy #2 had gone to bed early, complaining of not feeling well. His sister had complained about the same thing the night before - but seemed to be a victim of gas - so I wasn't certain what was going on. She had been nauseous; it turned out that he was far more. He ended up getting up, wakened by his brother, and puking in a trail from halfway across his bedroom into the hall, and then to the kitchen, ending up at the sink.
It was the only time he's done it tonight so far, so I think it was temporary bug, or something he ate. We seemed to all have had some kind of trouble with the chicken chili from last night; his just turned out to be more violent than the rest of us. Fortunately, Hubby had a stronger stomach than I did this evening; I had to spray lots of Lysol all over the kitchen before I could clean up the worst of it. He handled the hallway and the room, while I washed Boy #1's only pair of sneakers (suede leather!) and the clothes that got hit. I also washed the kitchen floor once the worst was up. Boy #1 is going to have to borrow Dad's sneakers tomorrow to go to school - fortunately (or not), they are of similar size now.
Boy #2 is sleeping on the sofa now, with all the lights off in the room except my desk light and the front porch light. He has the barf bowl, and hopefully we won't have a repeat. I'll probably keep him home tomorrow and keep an eye on him. Makes me glad that I did stay home from the write-in tonight.
ETA: Spoke too soon... sigh. At least this time, he had the bowl.
