Happy Birthday Sweet Sixteen!!

Yes, the Girl is now sweet sixteen! Kinda hard to believe it, but it's true! We haven't done anything really special as of yet, but we did take her to a Chinese buffet after her youngest brother's team was eliminated in "Battle of the Books" (first year that his school has done it and they actually did quite well!).
She wants a good digital camera; they're still pretty pricey so we're thinking about it. Hubby has suggested a particular art book that he read about, one that deals with perspective. It's a possibility. He had the day off but didn't get a whole lot done. Brought the AC units into the house (yes, it's that warm), but didn't get any put in windows. He did manage to mow the front lawn before the sun set completely; we're supposed to get thunderstorms and showers for the next three days and the lawn needed it.
Not much more to say. TWW Chapter 53 is moving along; I expect to post it this weekend. More as the muse moves!

Date: 2007-05-05 04:30 pm (UTC)Tis I, Ellie, the (not-so) small and annoying, who holds to her name an overwhelming and worrying
obsessionlove for a ginger-haired puppet who shall remain nameless, as well as his human counterpart who shall ALSO remain nameless, and the ability to botch up the posts on a certain Fan Fic Forum that was in existence a year or so ago. Man alive, I joined that when I was twelve pending thirteen - over five years ago! O__OErm, sorry, yes, getting distracted. Eh, I'd like to ask if I might put you on my f-list - I'd quite like us to have a closer cyber-link (sorry, I didn't know how to say that without sounding - eh - 'funny').
Anyway, may I add you to my f-list? It'd be nice to keep a closer check on how your life is going. :) I'm glad that family-life is going smoothly, and I really hope your daughter enjoys her birthday!
Anyway, toodle-pip for now. 'You've Been Framed' is on in a moment, and Dr. Who not long after that... Saturday night TV = love! ^__^

Date: 2007-05-05 04:40 pm (UTC)Ah, Dr. Who! We've managed to borrow the DVDs of the Ninth Doctor's season from our local library (it's awesome that way), and we all have enjoyed it! But then, we also enjoy #8 in his one and only television appearance (which we have on videotape). Still, to me the epitome of Doctorness will always be #4. Jelly baby or ginger beer anyone?
Using the gingerhaired one's avatar just for you, Ellie. And you should check out the semi-sorta continuation of that long-ago RP at the website linked in my profile. Gordon is available....

Date: 2007-05-05 05:00 pm (UTC)*Torn* Oh, Tika, I would say yes to the RPG if you're implying that I could join, but I'm doing my AS-Levels, and then it'll be the A-Levels and if I thought GCSE was tought, oooh, I ain't seen nothin' yet! I wish I could join you, if I had the time, but I can't. But I hope the rest of you are enjoying it! I still have my private little fantasies. Why, yes, Gordon, a trip to Hawaii sounds delightful...
Ah, the Time-Lord is lovely - I actually prefer the Tenth incarnation, which is played by the Scottish and sexy David Tennant. I'm not familiar with the Ninth, but from what little I have seen, I like! Must see if I can watch some of the older episodes - though it'll be hard, given my attachment to the Tenth!

Date: 2007-05-05 05:25 pm (UTC)Oh, we'd love to have you come play with us, Ellie dear, but not if you're in the middle of such grueling work (and I know it's grueling - watched Rain go through it a couple of years ago). Real life comes first, always. However, if you need a break and want to read some cool TBs stuff, just hop over and feast your eyes. I will warn you that it's been described as just a teeny-tiny bit addictive. If you do take a peek, start with chapter one, which you can find in the Archives. And yes, we are enjoying it! We've been playing for THREE years now and still going strong!
I haven't seen any of Ten myself, outside of the transmographication scene at the end of Nine's series. The actor playing Nine is currently to be found - or not found, as he is invisible - on our hit show "Heroes". I hope he reappears soon (in more ways than one) as he's an interesting character.
Keep up the good work at school, and remember, this too shall pass.
